I was given orders to name the kittens. The super cuddly little girl is copper colored, so she is Penny. From there, I went on a "Lost" roll.  Her red-blond macho brother is Sawyer, and the quiet & petite dark tortoiseshell with the cute little nose is Kate.

They are totally used to being picked up and held. Cat Connection volunteers are helping me/us/them in a BIG way. Linda and Dee (whom I just met) come to my house every day to spend time with them. So far this long weekend, they got shots, de-wormed, de-flea-ed and spent their afternoons with other adoptees being coddled at the local PetCo.  Next: I need to let them start running the room. (These kittens are getting me to finish some projects done that have been hanging around for years. I've got to clean up that room!)

Their little sister (white & yellow: Shannon?), mother, grandmother (still hasn't given birth, BOY was I wrong about her, dang! she could have been spayed by now),are doing okay. I made shelters for them out of large plastic storage containers. Tomorrow: Frontline or Advantage.

Java heard them through the airlock.  He is PISSED OFF:  "You CHEATED on me! And now you want me to sleep on your bed as if nothing happened? Hell no!  I am sleeping on the couch!"

I got a quote on the materials (alone) for the retaining walls today. Good grief. It was EIGHT times what I'd thought it would be.  Not sure what to do.  Need to sleep on it.

When procrastinating pays off? I didn't walk away from the chimney co. that treated me shabbily last year. This week? Turns out the guy who came to my house was let go, they were super apologetic about the sitch, and are going to throw some services in for free. If they follow through, I will write one glowing report in Yelp for them!
