Mar. 6th, 2009 07:29 pmWow, it's been about 6 months since I first noticed the hungry kitten under the quasi-abandoned car. Last night, Mike from the nearby auto shop said he thought one of this customers and wife might want to adopt the last kitten. He dialed his number, handed me the phone, and we talked about cats for a 10 minutes. They're not sure, but I'll stay in touch with them. Mike's been adopting out cats from the area for years, it turns out. What a good guy. Getting to know people in the neighborhood has been the business of doing what I can for these cats, I just never expected it to be as fun and interesting a slice of life as it is. I like it.
The 4th kitten is getting lots of socialization practice at my house. "Sun" doesn't really fit her. I'm thinking of Lily instead. It fits her, and she responds well, having been called "Little Girl" or "Little Thing" for 4-5 months. Keep the "Lil." I'm not isolating my black cat from her as much as I did with her 3 siblings. He needs to get over it. I suspect he could along with her, although I'm not planning to keep her. She'll be ready for adoption clinic in another couple of weeks, I think.
ION, I did something I've done before, and then just hate having done later. In a burst of enthusiasm, I pressed a bunch of DVDs on visitors sometime late Dec. and Jan., didn't write down anyone's name, and now can't remember who the loanees are. So I own(ed) the recently-aired Weeds & Dexter seasons, haven't watched either, and don't have them any more! GRR! I suspect one of my siblings has them and won't admit it. I rec'd an exceptionally nasty email from one sib after asking if she had it. Yup, that's my family, lucky me.
