Ben's [the Mink Tonkinese] Rule:
Given free run of the house, the cat will yak on the most recently laundered throw rug, not the easy-to-clean hardwood, tile, or linoleum floor, nor either of the 2 throw rugs that were yakked on last week and haven't been laundered yet. If a recently-laundered throw rug is not available, the magazine you are reading and left open on your bed will suffice.
