Some comments in that thread reminded me of the pleasing fatigue that comes with diving. It's a sensation specific to diving. I suspect it has to do with nitrogen outgassing from your tissues where it's dissolved into them from the pressure of the water. It's a fatigue unlike any other kind that I've felt before, rather a nice fatigue, too.
So, cats. Last night, Java accompanied me on my 3-hour yard chores of weeding, deadheading daisies, helping my neighbor who has MS with stuff in her yard & dragging out both our garbage and green waste bins, & watering (yeah, I should get timers and soaker hoses or irrigation but whatev.It's been hecka hot and everything needed a good soaking) when a women with a beautiful border collie stopped to talk about the daisies (Alaska shastas, very tall, with huge flowers). We were exchanging pleasantries, and I was reaching out to pet her dog, when we all heard a rumbling noise somewhere behind me, and turned to see what it was, the dog stepping a little closer to sniff in the direction of the noise. It was about 10 PM by then, and pretty dark (yeah, I garden by the streetlight sometimes). Suddenly, Java erupted from behind the mallow, dancing sideways, puffed and arched to twice his regular size, and chased them both up the street. The woman and I just kind of hollered to each other, sorry! I guess we're going! as they ran off. I was stunned. A) Java's always slunk under the car and hid from dogs before, and B) I didn't know he was behind the mallow - black cat, shadows, etc. I'm so proud of him. My good little watch cat, looking out for his territory.
I've got the blood test results back on Shoo. They're almost all normal. I go to the vet tomorrow to find out what the few low and high results mean. Ugh. She'll be 18 next month. Surely she'll hang in there until 20?
