Jun. 19th, 2006 07:02 pmThe last two weeks and weekends have been super busy, which is fun, but I'm ready for some down time about now. This week and next are shaping up to be busy, so maybe by July 4th weekend.
Got rid of some things (donated to Salv. Army) and picked up some good things at the gigantic neighborhood yard sale. It was fun to hang with M, L, and G. We started at 7 AM and were incoherent by the time we quit around 1:00 to lunch at a beautiful outdoor Italian cafe. An iced tea and some food later, we were all making sense again.
Turns out that Java sent the neighbor cat to the vet last week. I'm glad he got some licks in and didn't just take it. That must have been quite some fight and had to have happened last week while I was at work. The giant abcess Java's arm is shrinking (thank heavens for antibiotics!), and the other cat finally went home last night. I hate it when he won't leave. He skulks around the periphery of my yard, ignoring his mom's calls; then invariably I'm shocked awake around 4 AM by enraged, yowling cats, one 4 feet from my head, and the other 3 feet on the other side of the window between them. I already know how efficient and effective adrenaline is at waking one up but I'd rather sleep, thank you.
What else. Sister was over on Sunday, followed by meeting a bunch of people at a fabulous art festival. Oh! I finally watched the finale of The Amazing Race. ( Read more... )
