Responds well to deadlines
Jul. 27th, 2005 10:35 amI have the bad habit of not working on my house much unless/until someone is coming to visit. Then I get all adrenalized and go to town on various projects on the to-do list. A friend is getting married this coming weekend. Friends of hers from Australia, whom I'd never met before, are staying at my house for a week.
I procrastinated until last weekend, when I kicked into high gear. Things done: fixed two plumbing items, cleaned/drained/fixed relay on hot tub so now it's clean & hot again. Mondo hours of yard work (ouch, my back). Cleaned outdoor chairs. Primed the screen door, & painted the front door, sill, and French doors. Hardest of all: tackled the stacks of mail, magazines, papers etc. and threw out almost everything. Then, on a roll, I weeded out my closet. Woo Hoo! My wonderful neighbor cut 5 vases worth of flowers for me! Lavendar and gardenia smell especially wonderful; white bunch roses in a green vase remind me of my favorite Van Gogh; orange lilies in a deep blue vase, and assorted blue, deep purple and white flowers in a periwinkle vase = beautiful.
