Wed. meteor count per 30 minutes (from West Marin; I didn't make it out of town until Thurs.): 22
Thurs. 16
Fri.: 12
Sat.: 6
Most fun events:
1. Skinny dipping in Blue Lake late one afternoon with C. 2. Getting up early and hiking to Granite Lake Sun. AM and skinny dipping by myself when S went off to check to out the different watershed & mountain range from over the ridge. 3. Hiking 7 miles and a 2,000 foot drop down the Charity Valley trail to Grover Hot Springs. Soaking in said hot springs. 4. A tangle of us lying on and under blankets, skootching up to each other to keep warm, in the sand next to the lake, a little drunk after our big pot luck & wine fest, giggling and oo and ahhing when we saw a meteor. 5. Driving back via Carson Pass and the Morman Emigrant Trail to Placerville, on L's recommendation. It was gorgeous. It made me happy that I'd split with H back-when, since I stopped at every lookout and a few lake resorts to check things out, and didn't have to hear him bitch about it.
Calif. is marvelous. Are there any states besides Calif., OR, WA and Alaska where you can be at sea level one minute and at a 8,700 foot elevation a 3.5-hour drive later?
