I'm driving around to lunch these days, the better to keep listening to Jennifer Government, an Australian satire on corporate marketing, capitalism and US imperialism. It's enjoyable enough. I drove to an urban grocery store to buy birdseed. Not only did they not have wild birdseed, which all my local grocery stores carry in different varieties in several weights, but one clerk had never heard of birdseed. Another clerk had to explain the concept to her. WTF?
