I bought a 500 GB Tivo drive on sale at weaknees. It can arrive any time soon now, since I"ve been too busy to watch much content, and I'm running out of room to stash what I want to squirrel away for later, like, all of Fri. Night LIghts, most of Jericho, and I still am hanging on to all of Heroes, though I'm not re-watching them.
Of course, my house is a mess, like, don't come in here, messy. One more weekend day on the yard, and then it has to survive the summer while I tackle the house and the garage.
My sister owes me big.
I caught a few older eps of things. V Mars. Seriously? "Don't kiss and tell" means don't kiss and tell. Not a word. Yeesh. I guess they wanted to break them up. I need to find out what's going on with the show, well, after I finally get caught up. I don't know if it's been renewed or not or what's going on. I'd've thought there'd be new eps by now. Amazing Race. Uchenna is such a good, good man. I heart Uchenna. Mirna and Charna annoy me like whoa but I liked Mirna's little advice/talk about staying in school, don't do drugs, get a profession. I like the blondes the best. I enjoy how well they work together and that they seem to have a good time and enjoy what they get to see and do. That goes a long, long with me. I'm rooting for them to be the first all-woman team to win. I suppose Mirna and Charna are possibles, but I don't know. Something they do, Mirna in particular, is adopt a Greek accent/use broken English in foreign countries. It works really, really well for them. I really like Oswald and Danny, too - funny, charming, sweet with each other, swoony accents. Those are my two fave teams to win.
20 more person-hours of yard work this weekend. It's starting to look like a gardened yard these days instead of a quasi wild garden/weed patch. I went bananas buying plants (red hot Sallies! delphiniums! salvia! State Fair giant zinnias! tomatoes!), then called Jane to plead for help planting them. I just don't have garden-design sense. Actually, Jane doesn't either, but at least between the two of us, we get them in the ground. She'll be back from Oregon soon. All the peas plants and all but 3 of the beans were eaten by something. Snails? I blame that new couple up the street who let their hound dogs run around off leash. The skunks and opposums were keeping the snail population at bay. Nothing like hounds running around at night to scare away the wildlife. I wonder if their awful dog has been chasing the deer. I haven't seen any in a long time. All my yard work doesn't help, of course, but I'd usually be seeing twin fawns, mom, and some aunties hanging around. I haven't seen the big buck either, the one with the growth on his left cheek. Java's taken to spending a lot of time sitting on the chimney, monitoring all action in the neighorhood. I'm certain it's because of those dogs. I'm glad he found a really, really safe place and hope he doesn't stumble and fall into the chimney. He's not a particulary graceful cat. He's built like a bull dog, or a wrestler.
All this has to be handwatered, so it's kind of like I"ve adopted a new pet. It reminds me of having a horse when I was in high school. No matter what, I had to get up, and get dressed to trek down to the shedrow and feed and water and muck out Breeze's stall. There are parts of my yard that I have to water where I really can't tromp around in my nightgown, not efficiently, and time is always a premium in the AMs. Of course, my house is a mess, like, don't come in here, messy. One more weekend day on the yard, and then it has to survive the summer while I tackle the house and the garage.
