I have been (on and off, of course) trying to arrange a lunch with three other people SINCE LAST FALL. OMG I can't believe it, the date is finally set. We have had to change it four times in the week and 30+ emails, I swear. At last!
My sister moved in on Monday. So far, not bad at all. Her little dog is leaping around on his three legs and a tightly-bandaged fourth. He had orthopedic surgery a few weeks ago. To her credit, my sister put together the financing for this $3,800 surgery from rescue dog groups, dog philanthropists, and small donations from dog lovers via Craigslist, in about three days. The little dog put one front leg down a gopher hole and kept walking, and it snapped both leg bones just above his ankle. It was either surgery to put plates and screws in the bones, or amputation.
I keep getting the college swim class pool ick in my ears and throat. Ugh. Biology class is going great, despite my not being up on the reading as per syllabus, but I read two chapters in the 15 minutes before class, which brought me up to speed for last night's class. There's a good reason I took this class! Training wheels...
