Jul. 2nd, 2008 06:14 pmMeh things:
The sister's house goes up for auction in a few weeks. Every evening, there's more stuff stacked somewhere inside or outside of my house. I'm allowing her to put this 10 x 12 studio/shed in the back yard that I don't really want there, but I want her to lose more money even less. Also, I've had to write more big checks on her behalf, with more coming.

Good things:
- Arnold Palmers (half iced tea, half lemonade or whatever proportion works for you)
- Books on tape with good readers. I'm currently listening to the latest #1 Ladies Detective Agency book, and I just love Lisette Lecat. There's a lot of repetition in the musings of Mma Ramotswe, and the cadences of Ms. Lecat's voice brings warmth and, yes, tradition to the words.
- Blue skies. It's so nice to not have a kerjillion pounds of smoke/ash in the air.
- Speaking of clean air, I love this website and recommend it to Bay Area residents. If you see a polluting car, jot down the license #, location, date/time you saw it, and report them. No one will march them off in the night, or put points on their license, but they will get a letter telling them that their car is polluting and they really ought to clean it up.
- http://www.baaqmd.gov/ - SF Bay Area smoking vehicle hotline/website
- Good neighbors. In addition to being wonderful in every way, S&D have broken down and admitted that I Know What I Am Talking About When It Comes To TV, so I'm getting to direct them in catching up on all the Good Shows. Fun!
- My black cat. He's very affectionate. He runs to greet me at my car every night, follows me around while I water plants... we have lots of little routines, from what I do/he does in the driveway, to "it's time to play string on the red rug after you feed me a little evening treat!." He'll sit patiently and wait for me to change clothes, etc. so we can do our things together. He's a good companion. (Also: no critters in the house lately, yay.)
- Steel Pulse, Joan Jett, at the County Fair: http://www.marinfair.org/concert_sched.cfm
- GREAT weather in my home county. It's a little too cool in the East Bay right now.
- Not working for the next 4 days.
