Randomness
Feb. 7th, 2007 08:10 pmSince my house is clean, and the dining room table top visible for a change, I had friends over for dinner last night. It was such fun! I need to do it more often.
I like Yahoo mail SO MUCH MORE than Gmail. The threading feature is an annoying problem to overcome, not a bonus IMHO.
I'm listening to "The Road," by Cormac McCarthy on books on tape and it's really good, a bleak post-apocalypic world in which a father and son are making their way south through the Cumberland Gap, trundling their few possessions in a grocery cart down the abandoned state highways. I'm only on tape 2 and it's already a favorite book.
Dana Stabenow's new Kate Shugak mystery arrived in the mail yesterday. I buy very few books and this was a Christmas-money treat. Ah how I missed Kate, Mutt, and Jim Chopin. Global warming has hit the Park, too; speaking of roads: residents are driving their cars in winter instead of using snowmobiles.
I can't get Lily Allen's songs out of my head, particularly Smile and LDN. She was on SNL, and Ken Tucker reviewed her album on Fresh Air this AM. Infectious, much?! Listen free at her website. "sun is in the sky, oh why oh why, would I want to be anywhere else?"
Ooo! Lost is back. Time to run.
