May. 30th, 2006 07:46 pmIt was so wonderful to be home this past weekend. It was the first normal weekend home in a long time, where I wasn't shopping for stuff to take to Mexico (weekends of April 22 & 29), going to Mexico (weekend of May 6), or getting ready to or actually driving back from Mexico (May 13 & 20). Ahhh... couch. Ahhhh... Tivo. Ahhh... warm cat (though I could have done without the Calif. wood rat's heart being eaten out on my bedroom throw rug, necessitating a trip to a laundromat, as it is the only rug in my house that won't fit in my washing machine. Still, nice to presume that Java is happy to have me back home - the rat was presented to me first, then brought back into the house after I left for the movie. Drat. He usually leaves them behind. Hardwood floors done well make it extremely easy to clean up blood, though. Good to know.) Plus a movie, dinner out, neighbors over for breakfast to talk about a construction project behind my house, plus bonus garden tours of 3 neighbor's yards, and an originally-Sparky1-inspired orzo salad-making, with feta, red bell pepper, mushrooms, al dente broccoli, and sundried tomato. (Her yummy salad last year was much better than mine, but this one is pretty good. )
I missed a bunch of stuff in my various favorite tv shows. I didn't notice that I wasn't keeping all VM shows, so I have 10 and that's it, which means I missed the finale and possibly 2-4 prior eps. I missed Grey's Anatomy finale, though I did see Lost's, and I fear I missed the West Wing finale and perhaps a few more towards the end. I can only hope that they are rerun this summer, or, I'll catch them on DVD later. Sigh. A coworker taped the Amazing Race finale for me, which I haven't had time to watch.
I caught up on Lost (though I don't have the ep Wherein Characters Die), Everwood (sniff, how could they not pick up this fine show?!), Prison Break (yes! *finally*!!) and tackled Thief. Wow, did I love it! I watched the premiere a long time ago and the other 5 episodes yesterday. I'd only ever seen Andre Braugher in City of Angels before, and he's fabulous - such presence. The kid was pretty good, too. A couple of times, I wanted her to die because her character was threatening Nick with her not-knowing, but it wasn't in a Kim Bauer Must Die Way. I hated her hair, though. Her hair part was as if she had a combover. WTF? Also, Will Yun Lee? GAH. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0498449/
Huh, Tim Goodman has a blog. Cool!
