Aug. 12th, 2005 11:00 pmI ordered digital cable just for the Sci Fi channel, so I could start watching Battlestar Gallactica. Cable guy didn't know what he was doing and/or got freaked out by my A/V array, so now cable is only hooked up to the TV. I don't watch live TV, haven't since I got a Tivo. I've missed everything for WEEKS, because the cable co. can't come out until Aug. 20. (Well, Aug. 17, but I'll be damned if I'll take 5 hours of vacation time off for them again, so Sat. Aug. 20.) I've missed House, Nip/Tuck, The 4400, random Gilmore Girls' that I want to see again. GRRR.
I do have all of last season's Arrested Development and 95% of Alias, but Alias kind of bores me, and I want to see Season 1 A/D first. Which would entail getting it and finding time to watch it. Um, not enough time. But see, I'd make time for House, Nip/Tuck & The 4400!
Book report: I started The Secret Life of Bees on books on tape. It's a wonderful marriage of reader to material. The reader sounds like a teenager, though she must be an adult. I'm liking it so far, which surprises me a little since I resisted it for a long time after hearing that it's another example of a Magical Negro plot.
In other news: Chevy's mahi-mahi fish tacos are really good, and they have the BEST salsa & chips EVAH. Java's wound is looking better. The neighbors have agreed to talk to the vet about meds, or something, for their attacking cat. Since we have the same vet, I'm glad I called him first to talk about it before I talked to them.
