Jul. 9th, 2005 01:37 pmThanks for the info on how to make the LJ names thing. I'll practice later. I'm at work all afternoon because someone upstream in the work flow didn't give me the documents I needed to finalize - 16 of them - until 2 PM Friday and I'm taking Mon. and Tues. off and going out to the beach house again. Oh joy. For real re beach, even if it will be cold and foggy, but sarcastic for the work stuff. This is the 3rd time this has happened! I can't just walk away from completing the work but boy is this irritating.
I'm somehow managing to hang in there with the Team in Training training and racewalked 8 miles this AM. I was in pain the last 2 miles, though. I have to locate this store See Jane Run and get better performance undies. I showered at work afterwards and discovered I forgot to bring pants. Oops. Wearing my running tights was an option even though, Yuck! so instead I dug out a sarong in my car and am wearing it as a festive and tropical skirt. There's no one else around, so what the heck? My car kind of looks like a homeless person lives out of it but it's been useful having all kinds of stuff in there many times.
There's a public list for John Muir Trail info/communication, and one of its users just posted a link to his public journal about his Pacific Crest Trail trek: a 2,650 mile backpack from Mexico to Canada. ::sigh:: I SO want to do something like that one day. First things first, since racewalking a measly 8 miles tuckered me out!!
Here's the PCT link: http://www.pct2005.com/dispatches/ SIGH, doesn't it look FABULOUS!!! Yum.
