Dec. 4th, 2004

I'm at work, getting ready to go to Palm Springs tomorrow for a few days for this condo thing I had to use or lose. Nothing about this trip has worked out according to plan. Friends who were going to stay with me bailed because they can't do this AND drive up for a birthday party (zero on the end!) I'm throwing for my sister next weekend. Which I'm also organizing. Did I mention I'm handling a lawsuit for her, too, since she's out of the country? getting her car fixed while she's gone (eek, I have to walk down to the industrial area and drive it home tonight)?; arranging getting her home from the airport the day after I get back myself? Oh well, I figure I'm ahead if I get some sleep, give myself a pedicure, hike a bit, and shave my legs for a change while I'm down there. Maybe I'll go out to Joshua Tree. Read a book or three. A book group member who moved to So Cal years ago is gonna try to meet me for dinner one night; I hope that works out. A friend up here might fly down Monday for the heck of it, if she isn't mad at me. In my passive/aggressive way, I've been storing a table for her in my LR for a year and today, aggressive kicked in: it HAD TO GO. It's sitting in her driveway. So she might be mad; I hope not. ::shrug:: IT HAD TO GO. I just hope the cats are okay while I'm gone. Java leaped on Shoo and bit the heck out of her this morning; I could have wrung his neck.

This is amusing, posted in LJ usher Sedaris Family:

TIFFANY SEDARIS tells you stories about DAVID SEDARIS
I was bored and decided to browse ebay and I found this-->

TIFFANY SEDARIS tells you stories about DAVID SEDARIS

If you're a David Sedaris fan, you've already heard him tell tales about his youngets sister Tiffany. The frozen turkeys. The time he made her lie in the middle of the street so she'd get hit and their mother would feel bad.

But did you ever wonder what stories Tiffany might tell you about David? Here's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to find out. Tiffany, an artist in her own right, will meet the winning bidder of this auction for coffee at a mutually agreeable location in the Boston area (must be accessible by MBTA) and tell you everything David's NOT saying.

Bid now for an unforgettable experience!

Wouldn't that be an interesting conversation... This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen auctioned off on ebay... I wonder who came up with that idea. Seems to be a good one though, 13 people have already bid and the price is up to $67.08!
