Dec. 11th, 2003 12:21 pmDave Eggers interviewed Joan Didion in a radio broadcast of City Arts and Lectures last weekend, and did a segment where her answers could only be yes or no.
Do you think Howard Dean can defeat George Bush? (pause) No.
Do you think Wesley Clark can defeat Bush? (another pause) Yes.
It gave ME pause. I'm going to be watching what my mom and the other old people are saying, because of late, they have been more in the majority than I or any of my friends have been. Well, except for the Gore got the most votes part.
Also, on BBC radio driving home late last night, someonemumble was talking about how they assume already that Bush will be re-elected. Gahh!
Bottom line, I don't care who gets the nom, as long as it's the person with the best chance to beat Bush. I'm thinking alot more carefully about Clark now. If the people who'd normally vote for Bush can see voting for Clark but not Dean, because someone has to handle the mess in Iraq, maybe Clark's got the best shot after all.

Thanks for the info, Lyrajane, I emailed nightline also.
