Friday Five
Dec. 1st, 2003 08:44 pm1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
No, I don’t, until I actually get into a store, and then I like it. But it takes Having To Get Something for a Specific Purpose to get me to shop.
2. What was the last thing you purchased?
A present for my Buffista secret giftee and some slippers for my roommate (so I can take back the ones I was loaning her).
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
Brick and mortar store within the city limits of my home town, because it’s important to me that my local sales tax go to my municipality and not someone else’s municipality. Spending money is a political act.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
I got something, but I’m not sure what. I earned money mowing the lawn (7 acres, ~4 of it lawn) and babysitting.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
Shoes, as usual. I have one pair of work shoes and set about to remedy that. I’m severely impaired with regard to getting the right shoe size, like ADD or autism or something. I spent 45 minutes trying on Aerosoles at Macy’s making sure they were comfy, and they WERE, so I bought a pair, plus a pair of Naturalizers. When I tried them on at home several days later, both were an entirely wrong size. Now I have 3 pair of Aerosoles winging their way via .com, too, all in the wrong size. I hate shoes.
