I didn't get here to work until 1 PM. I was up at 6 AM and did all this: sanded the door, sanded the benches, sanded all the end boards, sanded a small redwood bench. Took the cats to the vet to board until tomorrow, went to the paint store and bought 6 gallons of deck stain. Came back to house, and spent hours scooting around on my hands & knees prying up with a knife & shop-vaccing tiny rocks, olive pits, and crud in the cracks of the deck that the power washing didn't get. Then I blew off the deck with a blower, and said to myself, Self, it's noon! You were supposed to be at work at 9 AM! You did tell them if you were late, you'd be working on the deck, BUT STILL. So I made lunch, showered and drove to work. I am SO VERY SORE. My back hurts, my wrists hurt, my fingers hurt, and I have redwood slivers all over my right hand that I didn't feel when they were going in.
The painter is supposed to arrive soon, at which point, I'll talk with him about the fact that I forgot to take out of my car the clean, new 5 gallon paint bucket in which he must mix two different deck stains on a 1:1 basis. DRAT!!!!!!! I don't know what is going on with the weather. It actually rained a tiny, tiny bit again. I hope this goes well. {{{crossing fingers}}} It should be done by the time I get home.
