Retirement, A Date
It's a little unreal that I'm retiring in July. No regrets, it was the right decision, just every day, I'm aware of the things that will be changing. Thirty years is a long time. Everyone says it and it's true: The thing that I will miss the most is the people. I have made some really good friends at work.
I had an actual date on Saturday. It was quite fun. It won't go anywhere. The dealbreaker: We talked about animals and he had his brother, an ER nurse, give a dog an overdose of insulin to kill it after it bit a kid (by accident, it sounded like to me), and drove a cat he didn't want out to the Central Valley, tossed it out of his car, and drove away. Uh, no.
