(no subject)

So I'm going to this wedding. There's a wedding group rate at a big nice chain hotel, and I have a booking there. In reading a tour book, I found out about a hotel one block away (how big a block, I don't know) rated higher for the midwest, with more interesting atmosphere (a converted historical bldg.), it's $15/night cheaper, and includes a real breakfast + wine/cheese in the eves, not that I'll be around for that.  I have a  booking there, too, and would rather stay there. However, group transportation will be arranged from the big chain hotel.  I planned to arrange my own transportation, and don't mind doing so. Will I just be seen as a PITA if I do that?  I should stick with the herd, huh?
