(no subject)
I was home for the weekend for a change. Saturday, I never left the house. It was really hot outside. Ugh. Hooray for good insulation and fans. My mother came over and we watched Tivo'd Olympics for hours, followed by Matchstick Men (good enough; I had to explain to my mom what happened, though; she bought it all and the ending was too subtle & fast for her to sort out), then she left and I watched Monsters, Inc. (so cute!) and several eps of Clean Sweep.
Sunday, I could see fog tubes over the East Bay and the Bay, so the temp was perfect in San Rafael. I was a cleaning demon nearly all day long. About time. There's still clutter, but it's very very clean. I took a break to shop for groceries, and actually cooked!!! I almost never cook. It was just a pasta salad but for me? amazing.
Next: get rid of more clutter. Also? the deck. The walnut tree is dropping walnuts and they make such a mess. I'll take the walnuts to Wildcare for the sick wildlife. Probably the squirrels and crows will like the walnuts.
The potential beach house week for Deena and Greg won't work out. The owners called me about an hour after I'd read email from Deena & knew the answer. Paypal'd amounts have already been refunded, and I'm taking the house for the following weekend. I invited all the Bay Area Buffistas to my BBQ there last year and not even one RSVP'd. I'm still a little cranky about that. Not sure what I'll do this year.
